In 1984 Mr. Hart started his training in Inayan Eskrima under the tutelage of Inayan Guro John Peterson in San Jose California. After meeting Mangisursuro Michael G. Inay in 1985 Mr. Hart became a member of the Inayan System of Eskrima School in Santa Cruz California.

Training a minimum of three classes a week, he worked his way up the ranks and in 1991 was promoted to Inayan Guro and took on the responsibilities of that rank in GM Inay’s school.

In a recorded Will made on December 11, 1999, almost one year before his death on September 27, 2000, GM Mike Inay stated that at the time of his death Mr. Hart would assume the title and responsibilities of Inayan “Suro” (Heir/Master) as one of three heirs, and the only non-family member authorized by GM Mike Inay to use the “Suro” title.

For most of his life Suro Hart has been dedicated to the preservation of the Inayan System of Eskrima as taught to him by Mangisursuro Michael G. Inay. Suro Hart spent over 16 years studying from the founder, and over seven (7) years living and training with the founder as a private student. Over those years Suro Hart earned the trust and confidence of the founder in his abilities to apply, teach, and continue the traditions of The Inayan System of Eskrima.
